A youth has been charged following a police investigation into reported online threats in Cobourg.
Cobourg police received a report that threats had been made during an online interaction between youths.
As a result of the investigation, a youth was arrested on Friday.
Following the arrest, the youth reportedly uttered threats toward a police officer and assaulted an officer.
The 16-year-old youth was charged with two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, assaulting a peace officer, and failing to comply with sentence.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
