The Quinte West OPP has laid charges in an impaired driving investigation.
On Saturday, August 1, at approximately 4:45 p.m., officers were conducting a RIDE program on Highway 401 Eastbound off ramp at Glen Miller Road, where an Approved Screening Device was utilized, resulting in the arrest of a driver for being impaired.
Shawna Young, 36, from Belleville, was charged with the following offences:
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on September 17.
Additionally, the vehicle was impounded for seven days, and their licence suspended for 90 days.
