Families in Belleville and throughout the Quinte region will soon have a new choice for their children’s education. Kid’s Mondo Private Education is opening in September 2026, welcoming students from Kindergarten to Grade 3 into a small, nurturing, and engaging learning community.
With three established locations serving families in Belleville and Napanee, Kid’s Mondo has grown through years of experience, trusted relationships with families, and a deep understanding of how young children learn. The opening of the private school is the next step in that journey, bringing Kid’s Mondo’s child-centred philosophy into a personalized elementary education environment.
At Kid’s Mondo, we believe children deserve a strong academic foundation without losing the movement, creativity, outdoor exploration, and joy that make childhood so important. Children should feel excited to come to school, confident in who they are, and supported in reaching their full potential.
A More Personalized Approach to Education
Kid’s Mondo Private Education is designed for families seeking smaller class sizes, individualized attention, and a school community where every student is known and valued.
We view children as competent, capable, curious, and rich in potential. Each student enters the classroom with individual strengths, interests, experiences and ways of learning. Rather than expecting every child to learn in exactly the same way or at the same pace, educators will adapt instruction and provide the support and encouragement students need to succeed.
Students will develop strong foundations in literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies while also participating in creative arts, physical activity, hands-on projects, problem-solving, and collaborative learning.
The goal is not simply to prepare children for the next grade. It is to help them become confident and independent learners who ask questions, think critically, communicate effectively, and develop a genuine love of learning.

The outdoors will be part of the Classroom
Learning at Kid’s Mondo Private Education will not be limited to desks, chairs or the traditional classroom.
Outdoor classrooms will provide students with meaningful opportunities to read, write, investigate, create, build, solve problems and explore academic concepts in a natural environment. Students may observe changes in the seasons, document discoveries, measure natural materials, explore scientific concepts, or enjoy reading and creative activities outdoors.
We believe outdoor learning is essential to children’s physical, emotional, and cognitive development. Regular time outside supports curiosity, creativity, concentration, independence, and confidence. It also gives children opportunities to take appropriate risks, solve real-life problems, and connect what they are learning to the world around them.
The school’s garden will serve as a living classroom. Students will help plant, care for, and harvest fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers while learning about science, nutrition, responsibility, sustainability, and the environment. Gardening will allow children to see the results of patience, teamwork, and consistent care while building a deeper appreciation for nature and healthy food.
Because Children Are Meant to Move
Young children are active learners. Kid’s Mondo Private Education believes children should have regular opportunities to move throughout the school day—not only during one scheduled recess or physical education period.
Movement will be incorporated into classroom activities, outdoor lessons, transitions, and hands-on learning experiences. Students will have opportunities to stand, stretch, explore, participate, and use their whole bodies as they learn.
Children are not designed to sit still for long periods. Regular movement can help them regulate their bodies, maintain focus, reduce stress, and return to academic activities feeling refreshed and ready to learn.
This balanced approach will allow students to receive strong academic instruction while still having the freedom to move, explore, and experience the joy of childhood.
Warm Meals Prepared Daily
Supporting children’s learning also means supporting their health and well-being. Students at Kid’s Mondo Private Education will receive warm meals prepared daily, helping ensure they are nourished, comfortable, and ready to participate fully in their day.
Shared mealtimes will be an important part of the school experience, encouraging independence, positive social interactions, healthy routines, and a positive relationship with food.
Providing warm daily meals also offers families greater convenience and peace of mind while helping students maintain the energy they need for learning, outdoor exploration, and physical activity.
Supporting the Whole Child
Kid’s Mondo’s philosophy is rooted in creating a positive, safe, loving, nurturing, and home-like atmosphere. Children’s health, safety, nutrition, emotional well-being, and sense of belonging are central to every part of the program.
The school will promote mutual respect, patience, creativity, and inclusion. Each child’s family, culture, identity, experiences, and individual needs will be respected within the learning environment.
Families will be valued as essential partners in their children’s education. Through regular communication, parents will remain informed about what their children are learning, how they are progressing, and how their development can be supported at school and at home.
Growing Alongside Quinte Families
Kid’s Mondo’s growth has been shaped by the families who have trusted the organization with their children’s care and education. From early learning and childcare to school-age programming and now private elementary education, Kid’s Mondo continues to respond to what local families need.
Many parents are searching for a smaller, more personalized alternative to a traditional school setting—one that maintains high academic expectations while also protecting the joy, movement, and curiosity of childhood.
Kid’s Mondo Private Education will offer that balance. Students will strengthen their academic skills while also gardening, creating, exploring, moving, and spending meaningful time outdoors. Educators will know their students well, families will feel connected, and children will receive the attention and encouragement they need to grow.
