Garage fire controlled quickly in Belleville Thursday afternoon

Quick action prevented a worse outcome in a fire at a residence in Belleville Thursday afternoon.

Belleville Fire reported a garage fire in the 100 block of Montgomery Blvd. around 1:30, which was fully involved with two homes as close exposures.

Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control in minutes and prevented any damage to either home.

The elderly residents of one home were evacuated for precaution and there are no injuries.

Fire prevention is on scene to determine a cause.
