Quinte Legion Lynx athletes are coming home with medals from OFSAA Track and Field Championships in St Catherines.
Over the past five years Quinte Legion Lynx Track Club members have claimed 19 of 23 medals at OFSAA by local Bay of Quinte athletes.
Josh Thomas of Bayside Secondary continued the tradition capturing a silver medal, his second ever at OFSAA in Sr. boys high jump with a leap of 1.95m.
Charlee Sage of St Theresa’s Catholic Secondary School claimed her second medal in two years, a bronze in Jr. girls pole vault with a personal best jump of 3.20m.
Nicholson Catholic College’s Emma Bolton won her first OFSAA medal, a bronze in Novice girls pole vault with a vault of 2.70m.
Isla Bibby of Bayside Secondary finally broke through to claim her first ever medal at OFSAA in four years of trying, a bronze in Senior girls pole vault with a jump of 3.65m.
The final medal for local Bay of Quinte athletes was won by Abraham Lupilli of Centennial Secondary, a bronze in Jr boys high jump of 1.85m.
Other Top 10 finishes for Legion Lynx Track Club members were;
Tua Esekia of Centre Hastings, 5th in Jr. boys shot put with a mark of 14.73m.
Sydney Johnson of Nicholson 6th in Sr Girls discus 37.15m and 10th in shot put 11.03m.
Hudson Brown St Theresa 5th in Jr. boys pole vault 3.45m.
Anabelle Aucoin-Satri Bayside 8th 2.45m in Novice girls pole vault.
Kem Kemka Bayside 9th in Sr Boys shot put 13.78m.
Griffin Coffey Centennial Secondary 10th Senior boys pole vault 3.90m.
Next up for Quinte Legion Lynx Track Club is hosting the Royal Canadian Legion District F meet and Ontario Summer Games Qualifier, Saturday June 13th in Belleville at Bruce Faulds track, Mary Ann Sills Park.
