A young woman was charged in Belleville after a frightening scene Monday night.
Around 7:15 p.m., a report was made to Belleville Police about a female in possession of a knife outside a business on College Street East.
Police were advised that the female was requesting money from patrons while in possession of the knife.
Officers located the woman and the knife and made an arrest without incident.
21-year-old Jada Sweet, of no fixed address, was charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Sweet was later released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in November.
