Quinte-area women’s hockey players will have new addresses starting next season.
Defender Zoe Uens achieved a major milestone, being selected this week by the Montreal Victoire in the third round of the PWHL Draft.
Uens, a Belleville product, recently completed her fourth season with the NCAA Division 1 Quinnipiac University Bobcats.
She notched 44 points in 154 total NCAA games.
Uens is a graduate of the Belleville Bearcats and Kingston Jr. Ice Wolves as well as Eastside Secondary School.
Additionally, Maddi Wheeler is heading on a new journey in 2026-27.
She signed a two-year contract with PWHL San Jose in Phase 2 of the PWHL expansion process after spending her first season in the league with the New York Sirens.
Wheeler notched 10 points in 29 games with New York in 2025-26.
Wheeler is a native of Erinsville, near Stone Mills and attended Napanee District Secondary School.
She also suited up with the Quinte Red Devils in her minor hockey days.
