The City of Quinte West and the union that represents inside and outside workers with the municipality are working toward conciliation.
In a release, the city says that it has been engaged in collective bargaining with 145 workers under CUPE Local 799.3 after its current contract expired on March 31 of this year and continues to work towards a negotiated agreement.
They say that both parties have agreed to participate in conciliation with a provincially appointed conciliator later this week.
This is a standard step in the bargaining process and is intended to support continued conversations and progress in negotiations.
No specific negotiation details are being shared right now to support a productive bargaining process.
City services continue to operate as usual, and no changes are anticipated at this time.
Further updates on the collective bargaining process will be shared on the City’s website.
