The sound of success will soon be ringing through more and more classrooms with the hastings and prince Edward district school board.
The Learning Foundation partnered up with the board to run the Have You Heard? campaign to raise money for soundfield technology to improve the sound quality in local grade 3 classrooms.
Yesterday, they announced that they shattered their $550,000 goal, and are at $585,000 and counting.
As a result, they are continuing the program with the goal to also install the sound-enhancing tech in local grade four classrooms.
Congratulations to everyone at the Learning Foundation and the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board for this amazing accomplishment, and what it will mean for local students.
As someone who has spent my working life in radio, and also several years as a DJ and event coordinator, I can strongly attest to the importance of high-quality sound when it comes to communication, education and fun.
Proper sound makes all the difference, Have You Heard? will make it easier for kids to listen and learn in a simple and direct way that will help them pay attention, understand all parts of the lesson and achieve greatness.
The fundraiser is continuing and is definitely worth supporting. You can’t learn if the lesson never gets to you, and soundfield tech can build that bridge for hundreds of local students still suffering in silence.
I’m Paul Martin and that’s what I see looking Beyond the Headlines.
