The legacy of a Prince Edward County firefighter and chief training officer will live on through an important avenue to help future fire members.

The County will honour the memory of the late Jim Young by donating a pumper truck to Hastings Prince Edward Regional Training Centre on Thursday to mark the one-year anniversary of Young’s passing.

Municipal leaders, fire service representatives, and members of the Young family will take part in a ceremony recognizing his lifelong dedication to public service and the continued impact of that commitment on firefighter training and community safety.

The ceremony begins at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Training Centre on 22 Chester Drive in Trenton.
