It’s already a two-horse race to fill the mayor’s seat in Prince Edward County.
Both Ernie Margetson and Brad Nieman have officially submitted nominations to run in the upcoming municipal election at Shire Hall in Picton
Nieman has spent years on council and is currently in his third term as Bloomfield/Hallowell ward’s council representative.
Margetson was part of the 2018-22 term of council serving as Hillier ward’s representative and lost out in the 2022 election to Chris Braney, who has filed his nomination papers for re-election as councillor.
Current PEC mayor Steve Ferguson has already announced he will not be seeking a third stint in the big chair at Shire Hall Council Chambers.
