Man charged in intimate partner violence case in Belleville on Wednesday

A Belleville man was charged in connection with a case of intimate partner violence early Wednesday morning.

On April 15th at 2:28am, Belleville Police attended a residence in the city’s east end regarding a domestic dispute. It was reported that a female was physically assaulted by a male who had choked her and ripped her pants.

As a result of police investigation, a 35-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with:

· Assault – spousal

· Assault causing bodily harm – spousal

· Fail to comply with a probation order

He was held for a bail hearing. No name was released.
