Power outages beginning around Bancroft

Freezing rain which began early on Wednesday morning in North Hastings is already having an impact on the power grid in the Bancroft area.

As of 10 am, there where half a dozen scattered outages in the immediate area around Bancroft, including two affecting 3-400 customers around L’Amable.

Conditions are expected to get worse as 10-20 mm of freezing rain is expected in North Hastings over the course of the day.

To the west, the grid is in much worse shape.

There were dozens of outages affecting thousands of customers in an area stretching from Gravenhurst to Wilberforce.

Estimated times of restoration vary greatly, but some have already been posted with ETR’s close to the end of the day on Wednesday.
