The City of Belleville’s Community Services Department is pleased to announce that the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre has two new aquatic wheelchairs available for community use.
The specialized chairs are designed to make pool access easier and more comfortable for individuals with mobility challenges. Built with corrosion‑resistant materials, slip‑resistant tires, and full compatibility with all pool ramps, the wheelchairs provide a smooth and safe transition from deck to water.
This upgrade removes barriers and expands opportunities for more community members to enjoy recreational swimming, aquatic fitness classes, therapeutic programs, and family swim times. It reflects the Community Services Department’s ongoing commitment to inclusive and accessible recreation.
Key Features of the New Aquatic Wheelchairs:
  • Chest and waist buckle
  • Hip abductor support
  • Adjustable headrest
  • Reclining back
  • Extendable leg support
  • Removable armrests
The aquatic wheelchairs are available upon request at no extra cost during all swim times and registered aquatic programs.
The Community Services Department remains dedicated to enhancing accessibility at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre and creating a welcoming experience for all.
