Key parts of holiday safe driving initiative commended by Belleville Police

By Brock Ormond Feb 27, 2026 | 3:40 PM

Community leaders were in the spotlight at a Belleville Police Service Board meeting on Thursday for their efforts in pulling off successful holiday ride programs in the city.

Co-Chairs for 2024 and 2025, Patricia Guernsey (Team Guernsey/Royal LePage) and Mike Callaghan (Retired Belleville Police Chief), were commended for their work in securing sponsorships and elevating community awareness for Operation Red Nose.

Their leadership, along with past committee chairs, ensures the continued success of the initiative.

Rick Watt, founder of Red Nose Quinte, was also recognized for his over 20 years of dedication to the program.

He was inducted into the Operation Red Nose Hall of Fame in 2017 for his national-level contributions.

Belleville Police officials say Watt’s leadership in recruiting volunteers, ensuring safety, and maintaining the program’s heart and soul has been integral to its ongoing success.
