Building community connections and crucial funds, one stone sweep at a time, was the name of the day on Saturday for Habitat for Humanity Prince Edward Hastings.

The second annual Rock Solid Housing Bonspiel at the Quinte Curling Club raised $8,250 toward Habitat PEH’s ongoing affordable home ownership projects.

Members of local businesses, supporters and community curling enthusiasts split into eight teams for a friendly competition all about community spirit.

Funding will help with the continued demolition at 93 Dundas Street in preparation for the 66 unit condominium complex Habitat Village, and the two-semi detached units currently being built on Lester Road in Quinte West which will become a place that four families will call home.

Applications are currently open for Lester Road, please visit habitatpeh.org or email Meg (megl@habitatpeh.org) for more information.
