Federal offender found and arrested in Bancroft area

A wanted individual who has been on the run for a month has been taken into custody in the Bancroft area.

On Friday, shortly after 11:00 a.m., members of Bancroft OPP and the OPP Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) squad located the individual at a residence in Wollaston Township.

The 42-year-old man, was labeled a federal offender wanted on a Canada-Wide Warrant for breaching the terms of a statutory release from a correctional facility.

A quantity of suspected methamphetamine was seized during the arrest.

Police later confirmed that the person was 42-year-old Nathan Dobratz, who had been at large since October 6.

He is serving a three-year, three-month sentence on five charges of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, three counts of operation while prohibited and one count of failing to comply with an at-large undertaking.

Dobratz is in the custody of Bancroft OPP and being returned to the federal institution where he had been held prior to his temporary release.
