Chargers sweep BOQ football finals, COSSA on deck this week

By Brock Ormond Nov 3, 2025 | 2:03 PM

The Centennial Chargers are doubly proud following a sweep of the Bay of Quinte Football Finals this past weekend.

The Junior Chargers squad rushed past the Bayside Red Devils 38-7, setting the tone early with an opening kickoff return for a touchdown and cruising from there.

The Senior Final was a much tighter battle early on, with the Chargers holding a narrow 8–7 lead at halftime.

However, Centennial came out firing in the second half, taking over both sides of the ball and pulling away for a commanding 36–14 win to claim the BOQ title.

Both Chargers teams will head to COSSA later this week, with the Junior Chargers visiting Peterborough to take on the Holy Cross Hurricanes on Thursday, November 6 at 12:00 p.m.

The Senior Chargers will host the Hurricanes at Mary Ann Sills Turf Field on Friday, November 7 at 12:00 p.m.

Winners of those games will head directly to the OFSAA provincial championships.

Bay of Quinte Football officials thanked everyone who supported Gleaners Food Bank throughout the season with donations at Friday Night Lights games and the championship finals, which will make a meaningful impact for families in the community.

They also wished congratulations to all teams on an incredible season filled with skill, sportsmanship, and school pride.
