Stirling-Rawdon Township and CUPE Local 907, representing employees in and outside of the municipality, have come to a collective bargaining agreement

Council approved the agreement at its meeting on Tuesday, and the union ratified it on Friday.

Approved was an increase in wages for all positions from $1.50 an hour effective April 1 of this year, with a 2.25-per cent jump in each of 2026 and 2027, effective again on the first of April.

Also included is enhanced employee benefits, including expanded coverage for paramedical and vision care, as well as the introduction of a new Employee Assistance Program to support staff well-being, and recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (September 30) as a paid
statutory holiday.

Stirling-Rawdon Mayor Bob Mullin stated this agreement demonstrates a strong partnership between the Township and the union, ensuring stability, fair compensation, and enhanced supports for employees while continuing to deliver reliable municipal services to the community.
