PEC driver charged following crash in Kawartha Lakes

Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a man from Prince Edward County following a crash back on Wednesday.

On October 22, 2025 at approximately 7:57 pm, officers were notified of a single vehicle collision where the vehicle was on its roof with significant damage.

Officers were dispatched to Monck Road in Somerville Township.

Nicholas Dean, 27-year-old of Prince Edward County was charged with:

Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date.

His drivers licence was suspended for 90 days and the motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
