Over 1,800 perennial wildflowers planted at Clifford Sonny Belch Park

By Hailey MacDonald Oct 4, 2025 | 7:50 AM

Volunteers helped plant over 1,800 perennial wildflowers at Clifford Sonny Belch Park yesterday.

The Quinte Field Naturalists joined in hosting community volunteers and students from St. Theresa Catholic Secondary School to plant flowers that will make up a wildflower meadow in the middle of the park. The meadow will help improve biodiversity and support pollinators.

Volunteers for today’s planting are still needed. The planting will begin at 10am in Clifford Sonny Belch Park, where they will be planting native shrubs on the new toboggan hill.
