OPP cruiser involving in collision in Peterborough area

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews attended the scene of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 7 at Television Road involving an OPP vehicle.

On Sunday October 19, 2025, at approximately 1:40pm, officers from the Peterborough County OPP were advised of a collision that had just occurred at the intersection of Highway 7 and Television Road. Officers were informed that one of the vehicles was an OPP unmarked cruiser being operated by an on-duty officer. The other vehicle was a pickup truck carrying four civilians.

As a result of the collision, all occupants of both vehicles were transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries as well as a precautionary measure.

The intersection of Highway 7 / Highway 115 and Television Road was closed for several hours while emergency crews dealt with the collision and police members trained in collision reconstruction, measured and documented the scene.

The investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing.
