Two young men face charges after a serious stabbing assault in Picton.

Friday night around 11:15 p.m., Prince Edward OPP responded to a report of an assault with a weapon outside a convenience store on Paul Street.

The victim, a 35-year-old male, was transported to a regional trauma centre with very serious, but non-life-threatening stab wounds.

Police say he continues to undergo treatment.

During the investigation officers recovered multiple weapons.

Two individuals were arrested shortly after the incident, with assistance from the Tyendinaga Police Service.

20-year-old Zachary Larrivee and 19-year-old Gavin Lafrance, both from Embrun, have each been charged with unauthorized possession of a weapon, possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose, and obstructing justice.

Larrivee is also charged with attempted murder.

Both of the accused remain in custody and were scheduled to appear in Belleville Court on Tuesday.

The investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by members of the Prince Edward County OPP, the Prince Edward County Crime Unit, and the OPP Forensic Identification Services.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact PEC OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
