Milton driver charged in connection with stolen vehicle

By Hailey MacDonald Oct 3, 2025 | 8:11 AM

A person from Milton has been charged following the recovery of a stolen vehicle in Quinte West.

OPP officers stopped a vehicle on the 401 in the early morning hours on Thursday and investigated, arresting the driver for being in possession of a stolen vehicle.

26-year-old Raghav Sharma faces charges of possession property obtained by crime over $5000, trafficking in property obtained by crime, using, dealing and acting on a forged document, driving while under suspension and driving a vehicle with cannabis readily available

He will appear in Belleville Court at a later date.

Quinte West OPP is offering tips and recommendations to prevent vehicle thefts, including the following:

Park vehicles in a locked garage as most vehicles are stolen from a driveway

Use a steering wheel lock, which will also work as a visual deterrent

Install a lock on your car’s data port (a simple device that can be purchased online and blocks access to the vehicles computer port).
