Tweed full burn ban reduced to partial burn ban

By Hailey MacDonald Sep 27, 2025 | 5:37 AM

Effective immediately, the full burn ban in Tweed has been reduced to a partial burn ban.

This change reflects improved conditions, but fire risk remains elevated.

Campfires for cooking and limited outdoor burning are permitted between 7pm to 7am.

Important Safety Notice:

Fires can start easily from all causes and spread rapidly after ignition.

Spot fires are a constant danger.

Fires burning in light fuels may quickly develop high-intensity characteristics, including long-range spotting and fire whirlwinds when they move into heavier fuels.

Extreme caution must be used during any burning activities.

The Municipality of Tweed urges all residents to follow these guidelines closely to help prevent wildfires and protect the community.
