By Hailey MacDonald Sep 5, 2025 | 10:32 AM

Anyone in Prince Edward County looking to get rid of household hazardous and electronic waste can do so free of charge next Saturday, Sept. 13.

Quinte West Solutions is holding a mobile event at the Wellington and District Community Centre on 111 Belleville Street from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

County officials say this will be the last mobile event in Wellington for 2025.

Household hazardous and electronic waste products that are thrown in the garbage or poured down the drain, can have negative effects on the environment including an impact on groundwater and surface water such as creeks, rivers, and lakes.

Click here to view the schedule and see a full list of items that are accepted at mobile events.

Motor oil and scrap metal will not be accepted. Motor oil must be dropped at the hazardous waste depot in Belleville.

Residents are reminded that electronic waste is now accepted at the South Marysburgh on 1132 Old Milford Road and Sophiasburgh (35 County Road 14) waste sites during regular hours of operation. Hazardous waste will not be accepted.
