Former Duke tragically killed in Wisconsin

A tragic story out of Wisconsin is involving a former Wellington Duke.

Giovanni Michael ‘Mike’ Robinson was in Sheboygan Falls on a golf trip when he was killed by gunshot.

Investigators are still trying to determine the motive for the shooting and say no suspects have been arrested.

Robinson suited up for the Dukes for 29 games in 2013-14 between regular season, playoffs and the Dudley Hewitt Cup and posted a total of 21 points.

He also played with the OHL’s Niagara Icedogs and his hometown Stouffville Spirit, a team he won the OJHL’s Buckland Cup with in 2012.

After his junior career, he went on to play five seasons with the University of Ontario Tech (UOIT) Ridgebacks and then pro hockey in the ECHL and Europe.

A new father of a six-week old baby daughter, Robinson was 32 years old.

Go Fund Me page has been set up for Robinson’s family.
