Kruger PRO in Bay of Quinte: Local Jobs and Community Growth

By Quinte Economic Development Commission Mar 3, 2026 | 5:30 AM

A brand that is “made in Canada, by Canadians for Canadians” and is also located in Bay of Quinte is worth finding out about! This brand is Kruger PRO, a subsidiary of Kruger Products. The company provides local jobs (over 200) and is committed to staying here and growing, which means it will continue to access local services and logistics, like transportation.

You may have noticed Kruger’s manufacturing facility in Quinte West. Even if you haven’t, you most likely encounter their product in your day-to-day life – say, if you buy Scotties tissues at the grocery store. Or perhaps you run a business in the region. The Kruger PRO product line is tailored for businesses.

Paper Products for Everyday Life

Kruger Human Resources Manager Anne-Marie Cote-Wood notes that Bay of Quinte businesses “… all have tissue needs. If you have a bathroom for your employees, you have tissue needs: toilet paper, facial tissue, and paper towel. We can do them individually wrapped for a standard home toilet paper dispenser, and we also do the larger dispensers that you see at the mall or in an arena.”

Businesses also need paper kitchen products like napkins. Kruger supplies those, too. Kruger recently started a new line of napkins manufactured out of the Quinte West facility, which demonstrates their commitment to growth in Bay of Quinte.

Kruger Pro products are ready-made for any of the vast number of public places in the region. “The library,” says Cote-Wood by way of example. She then goes on to name where else the product belongs: “Municipal buildings, schools, movie theatres, shopping centres, and ONroutes along the 401.” Businesses that buy Kruger PRO products not only support the local economy but are given the hometown service that a local manufacturer can provide.

Green and Giving in the Bay of Quinte

Besides contributing to the availability of local jobs and supplying businesses with a superior product, Kruger provides community leadership on how to be a greener manufacturer. Kruger embeds sustainability in all their decisions and actions, such that it has become part of their DNA. This is healthy not just for Bay of Quinte but for the planet!

Kruger runs an internal program called “Reimagine 2030,” focused on making sure the company gets even greener through further examination of its fibre content, use of renewable energy, and reduction in water emissions. In the last 10 years, Kruger has reduced its greenhouse gas emissions by 26% and its water consumption by 35%.100% of its fibre is third party certified. The company is also working on switching plastic packaging to paper.

Kruger further contributes to the community through sponsorship of local teams like the Trenton Golden Hawks and the Frankford Huskies and by contributing to organizations that help people in the community like the Belleville General Hospital Foundation and Quinte Immigration Services. Altogether, Kruger sponsors 17 entities, and each of them contributes to the health and well-being of the Bay of Quinte community.
