Nearly $65,000 in contraband seized at Collins Bay

Nearly $65,000 worth of contraband was prevented from getting too far into Collins Bay Institution.

Staff at the multi-level security federal institution seized items which included tobacco and marijuana, as well as cell phones and cell phone accessories.

The total estimated institutional value of this seizure is approximately $64,970.

The Correctional Service of Canada is heightening measures to prevent contraband from entering its institutions in order to help ensure a safe and secure environment for everyone.

CSC also works in partnership with the police to take action against those who attempt to introduce contraband into correctional institutions.
