UPDATE: West 401 reopened in Napanee following collision

UPDATE: Highway 401 west in the Napanee area is back open following a crash near Palace Rd. that reportedly involved at least three tractor trailers.

The Highway was closed for a few hours before reopening before 4 p.m.

No word on injuries in that crash as of yet.

ORIGINAL STORY
The slick roads have caused another crash and closure on Highway 401 in the Napanee area.
A collision on the westbound 401 near Palace Rd. reportedly involves at least three tractor trailers.
Emergency crews on scene say one of the vehicles is upside down and two have jack knifed, blocking all lanes.
OPP are in the area and emergency, and fire crews have been dispatched.
The west 401 at County Road 4 is being closed to clean up the scene and investigate, so drivers should stay away from that area until further notice.

As the winter weather continues to wreak havoc on local and regional roads, OPP East Region has posted a travel advisory stating several areas are currently experiencing heavy snowfall and strong winds, creating whiteout conditions on roadways and to go slow.

Visibility is also being significantly reduced, and surfaces are becoming slippery and icy, leading to unpredictable travel conditions and potential delays.
