Charges have been laid in a reported domestic dispute in Belleville.

Just after 2 p.m. Tuesday Belleville Police responded to a residence in the city’s west end, where it was reported that a male could be heard screaming from outside the residence.

Upon arrival, officers learned that the male had been screaming at a female.

Further investigation revealed that, in the days leading up to the incident, the male had reportedly pushed the female and slapped another individual, and had thrown items inside the residence, causing a disturbance.

A 48-year-old Toronto man was arrested and charged with assault and spousal assault and mischief

He was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in March.
