A Quinte West man is facing several charges after a vehicle reportedly nearly collided with a police cruiser last week.
On Monday, January 12, 2026, at approximately 5:00 a.m., the Quinte West OPP conducted a traffic stop of the suspect vehicle and after an investigation, arrested 24-year-old James Johnson of Frankford.
His list of charges includes; driving while impaired by drugs, dangerous operation of a vehicle, being in the presence of drugs as a novice driver, failure to report an accident and failing to remain.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on February 5, 2026.
