Once Upon A Child Belleville is once again opening its doors to the Bay of Quinte community for its second annual Take What You Need Day on Friday, January 23, offering families access to essential children’s items at little to no cost.
At the first Take What You Need Day in 2025, more than 8,000 items were given back to local families.
This year, the store is expanding the initiative to help even more people.
During the one-day event, the first 25 clearance items will be completely free for each family, and all additional clearance items will be available at 90% off. The event is designed to support parents and caregivers, ensuring families in the community have access to essential items including clothing, toys, books, and maternity wear.
“Last year’s Take What You Need Day reminded us why we do what we do,” says Kate Pieneman the owner of Once Upon A Child Belleville. “Seeing families leave with full arms and full hearts was incredibly moving. This year, we’re excited to make the event even more accessible.”
The event is open to the public and no registration is required. Quantities are limited and available while supplies last.
