A local man has been arrested and charged on a warrant.

Around 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, Belleville Police personnel conducting proactive patrol in the downtown area reportedly noticed a male who was known to have an outstanding BPS arrest warrant for failure to attend court while on a release order.

As a result, a 40-year-old Belleville man of no fixed address was arrested on the strength of the warrant.

He was held for a bail hearing.
