Belleville Police offer tips and awareness following recent collision

By Brock Ormond Jan 12, 2026 | 2:44 PM
The Belleville Police Service is offering educational tips and awareness for avoiding disaster on the roads.
On its Facebook page Monday, the BPS posted a video of redacted dashcam footage from a recent motor vehicle collision in the city where a driver was rear-ended while waiting to make a left turn.
Police stated their wheels were turned, and the impact pushed the vehicle into oncoming traffic. Fortunately, no serious injuries occurred.
Police officials advise drivers when waiting to turn across traffic to keep your wheels straight to reduce the risk of being pushed into oncoming traffic and limit the severity of a collision if you happen to get rear-ended.
Local residents are asked to please be aware and take steps to keep yourself and other drivers safe while on the road.
