Belleville man charged with assault in domestic violence case

A Belleville man was arrested over the weekend in connection with two recent cases of domestic violence.

On January 10th at 1:10pm, Belleville Police responded to a residence in the city’s east end regarding a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, it was reported that a verbal argument escalated when a male grabbed a female by the arm and pushed her into a wall. It was also reported that on December 31st, the same male reportedly slapped the female in the face.

As a result of investigation, a 42-year-old Belleville man, was arrested and charged with 2 counts of assault.

He was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in February.

His name was not released.
