The 2026 financial blueprint will be finalized on Tuesday in Prince Edward County.
A motion will be brought forward to council to adopt the Operating and Capital Budgets approved last month, and to essentially wave the potential veto period to one day (the date of the meeting).
The 2026 Operating Budget results in a net General Levy increase of 4.35% to be raised from existing taxpayers, after accounting for assessment growth.
The average increase to taxpayers is about 3.6%.
The 2026 tax supported capital budget maintains a total investment level of $22.6 million, which aligns with the Asset Management Plan’s recommended funding trajectory for the early years of the plan.
PEC Council meets on Tuesday night at Shire Hall at 7 pm.
