The Trenton Golden Hawks kept pace atop the OJHL’s East Conference with a commanding victory on Sunday afternoon.

Taeo Arthichuk and Joey Brehmer each notched four points to lead the way in a 9-2 drubbing of the struggling Cobourg Cougars.

Artichuk, Brehmer, Jack Ziliotto and Jamie Darlison all counted in the first period to send the Hawks flying early and they never looked back from there.

Beckett Ewart added two goals, with singles to Lucas Digiantommaso, Kale Mace and Logan Bennett.

Nathan McHattie added three assists, with Ziliotto, Digiantommaso and Josh Penney adding a pair each.

Colton Drillen-Roach made 27 saves as Trenton heavily outshot Cobourg 51-29.

The Hawks are back at home for their next game at 1 p.m. Tuesday versus the Markham Royals.
