ORIGINAL STORY:

Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for the Bay of Quinte region on Jan 10.

Freezing rain is expected this evening, with an amount of 2 to 4 mm of ice accretion or build-up possible.

Icy and slippery conditions are likely. Local utility outages are possible.

Precpitation will likely begin as snow or ice pellets before a transition to freezing rain. The freezing rain may last for a few hours this evening before coming to an end overnight.

For areas closer to Lake Ontario, little to no icing is expected as temperatures may remain just above the freezing mark.

Be very careful if walking or driving.
