The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police has laid over 20 impaired driving charges throughout the 2025 Festive RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) campaign.
Preliminary results for 2025 show that Quinte West OPP have arrested and charged double the number of impaired drivers compared to 2024.
Every instance of impaired driving is a risk we cannot accept. Quinte West OPP want to remind drivers to plan ahead for a safe ride.
Drivers should be aware that new regulations came into effect on Thursday, January 1, 2026, resulting in increased license suspensions and other measures aimed at reducing impaired driving.
