Curbside Christmas tree collection season in Belleville and Quinte West is set to start.

Beginning Friday and running through next week, City of Belleville residents can set trees outside their residences for pickup.

The collection schedule is divided by zones and is as follows;

Jan. 2: Zones 5 & 6 (north of Highway 401 and east and west of Highway 37)

Jan. 5: Zone 1 (west of Moira River & south of CNR Tracks)

Jan. 6: Zone 2 (west of Moira River & north of CNR Tracks, south of Highway 401)

Jan. 7: Zone 4 (east of Moira River & south of Victoria Avenue)

Jan. 8: Zone 3 (east of Moira River & north of Victoria Avenue)

To view a map of the zones, visit Belleville.ca/YardWaste.

City officials say Christmas trees can also be dropped off at the parks & open spaces office at 259 North Park St.

You’re asked to please make sure your tree is free of ornaments and tinsel and at the curb by 8 a.m. on your collection date.

Meantime, the Quinte West curbside collection will happen the next two Mondays, Jan. 5 and Jan. 12.

Trees should be placed at the curb by 7 a.m. on collection days.

Artificial trees will not be collected.

Trees can also be dropped off at the Frankford yard waste depot.
