The Christmas Sharing Program is wrapping up its 58th season supporting families across Belleville. Program organizers have issued an additional call for support to push this year’s campaign over the top.

Each year, Christmas Sharing ensures every registered family receives assistance. This year, that number was 1,334 registered households. In addition, more than 800 children aged 10 and under were registered through Christmas Sharing to receive gifts from the Belleville Professional Firefighters Toy Drive.

The program is turning to the community for support to bridge the final phase of the campaign and raise funds needed to complete the 2025 season.

“Christmas Sharing would not be possible without the generosity of our community. This year, the need was significant. Our community’s continued financial help will make all the difference to complete our 58th campaign,” said Hazel Lloyst, Coordinator, Christmas Sharing Program.

A Belleville Tradition Built on Local Kindness

Since 1967, when a group of residents sent 350 underprivileged children to Expo ’67, Christmas Sharing has grown into one of the region’s strongest seasonal support programs. Tens of thousands of families have been helped over the last 58 years.

This year is no different. The need remains significant, as rising food and housing costs continue to strain local households, including multi-generational families facing increased grocery expenses.

Despite these challenges, every registered family received support, which is a testament to the dedication of volunteers, sponsors, and donors who show up year after year.

“We are incredibly grateful for the community’s generosity. With just a short time left in our season, we are asking for help to ensure we can meet our 2025 financial goals in supporting 1,334 families,” said Lloyst.
