UPDATE – Snow squall warning in Bay of Quinte has been lifted

UPDATE 5 am Tuesday – the Snow Squall Warning has been lifted.

Environment Canada has issued a yellow warning for snow squalls this afternoon in the Bay of Qunte.

Brief, intense snowfall and blowing snow is expected this afternoon,

Near zero visibility in heavy snow and blowing snow is possible, with snowfall amounts of up to 5cm within one hour.

A sharp cold front is expected to track over the area. Along this cold front, a sudden intense snowfall is expected. Poor visibility in blowing snow is likely as strong northwesterly wind gusts are expected.

Travel will likely be hazardous. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.

The yellow wind warning is also still in effect with the wind gusts expected to ease by tonight.
