The Municipality of Brighton has declared a “Significant Weather Event.”
The anticipated forecast could make it impractical to maintain safe road surfaces in line with the municipality’s level of service and Minimum Maintenance Standards until the official declaration of the significant weather event has ended.
Staff will :
- Monitor road conditions and weather patterns
- Remove down trees across the municipality and open roads, prioritizing higher-risk areas.
- Apply materials to the roads i.e. salt, sand/salt.
- Keeping communication open with updates to Hydro One, Fire Dept, OPP, Bell.
The declaration of this significant weather event will remain in effect until conditions improve to the point where it is practical to return to routine roadway maintenance standards. At that time, an official communication will be issued to declare the “End of the Significant Weather Event”
