The Northumberland OPP has laid several charges against an individual from Trenton following an investigation into intimate partner violence.
In late November, officers received a report regarding multiple domestic incidents that occurred at two locations in Northumberland during September and October of this year.
As a result of the investigation, a suspect was taken into custody Thursday.
A 28-year-old male from Trenton, has been charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, one count each of spousal assault and mischief that renders property dangerous, useless, inoperative or ineffective and four counts of mischief to destroy or damage property.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg in February 2026 and will not be named to protect the identity of the victim.
