The Wellington Dukes blew their Tuesday afternoon affair open with four third period goals in a 6-0 rout of the North York Rangers.

Colby Booth-Housego made the victory hold up with a 26-save shutout, his first of the season, to improve the Dukes to 14-11-2-4 on the season.

Landon Marleau deflected the game’s opening goal past Rangers goalie Joseph D’Angelo off a Kyle Grasby shot at 6:23 of the first to give the Dukes liftoff.

Will Mitchell added to the Dukes lead at 5:26 of the second before Wellington started coming in waves in the third.

After falling with a tough third period the last time the Dukes visited Herb Carnegie Arena, the team made extra sure of the win on Tuesday by striking twice in a flash on the powerplay courtesy of Vince Albanese and even strength through Marleau in the first minute, then adding another tally through Evan Erwin.

Albanese potted another one late to seal the win.

Marleau picked up an assist for a three-point game, while Zach Mascard added three assists.

Liam Campbell (two assists) and Erwin (goal and assist) also made big contributions on the scoresheet, as the Dukes outshot North York 32-26.

Wellington next meets the St. Mike’s Buzzers at 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Michael’s College Arena.
