Highway 62 closed between Madoc and Bancroft

A serious crash closed Highway 62 north of Madoc on Sunday night.

East Region OPP posted the following message at 7:30 pm.

#Hwy62 closed between Lower Turriff Rd. in #Turriff and #Hwy620 in #Limerick. Emergency crews are responding to a serious collision involving two passenger vehicles. Use Hwy. 620 and Old Hastings Rd. as the detour. Expect a prolonged closure during the investigation and clean-up efforts. Updates to follow.

There is no word yet on injuries.
