An individual has been charged following a serious collision on Wednesday night on Highway 62 in Prince Edward County.

On Wednesday, December 3, 2025, shortly after 8:00 p.m., officers with the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a head-on motor vehicle collision.

The investigation revealed that a passenger vehicle was travelling southbound on Highway 62 when another northbound vehicle crossed the centre line and collided head-on. The driver of the southbound vehicle sustained minor injuries and was transported to hospital by ambulance.

Officers utilized an approved roadside alcohol screening device on the driver of the northbound vehicle. As a result, the individual was arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.

Crystal Lepp, 48, of Brantford, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Dangerous operation

The accused was held pending a bail hearing. The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The OPP reminds motorists that impaired driving is preventable. Members of the public are urged to report impaired driving by calling 911 in emergency situations. Complaints of impaired, aggressive, or careless driving can also be made by calling 1-888-310-1122.
