Residents can chip in to help feed and fuel local kids this holiday season

A holiday tradition in downtown Belleville and Picton returns for the month of December.

Residents in those communities and beyond can chip a few cents into a parking meter to go directly to feed local students’ potential through the Feed the Meter – Feed the Kids Campaign.

All funds collected in downtown parking meters during December will support Food for Learning’s breakfast, snack, and lunch programs in area schools.

An average of over 6,000 students participates in the Food for Learning program each day in local communities.

Last year, over 1.5 Million meals and snacks were served to students through the Food for Learning program

Each week, Food for Learning spends over $30,000 on groceries to ensure local students have access to nutritious food.

This year, the program is expanded to Trenton, Wellington, Centre Hastings and Bancroft.
