One person was transported to hospital following a two-vehicle collision that shut down Highway 7 near Sharbot Lake for several hours on Sunday night.
Officers with the Frontenac Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to the scene, between Fall River Road and McQuaid Road on Sunday, November 9, 2025, around 4:00 p.m. A car and tractor trailer had collided and the road was blocked.
The driver of the car was transported to hospital by Frontenac County Paramedics. The man’s injuries were confirmed to be non-life-threatening. The driver of the transport reported having no injuries.
Several other minor collisions were reported in the area, with most being vehicles sliding into the ditch.
Highway reopened just before 11:30 p.m.
The collision remains under investigation by Frontenac OPP.
Late Monday morning, another full closure notice was issued between Highway 37 in Actinolite and County Road 41 in Kaladar due to a three-vehicle collision.
Two individuals were taken to hospital with unknown injuries after 11:30 a.m.
The road reopened after 1 o’clock and traffic appears to be flowing through again.
